WiP Wednesday

This is my first 'Work-in-Progress Wednesday'  with Tami's Amis and it's socks :)
I have always knitted socks on DPN's from the top down but I have recently bought a new book of toe up socks and thought I'd try some with magic loop.
I had some self-striping yarn in my stash from some socks I frogged a while ago which was begging to be used and CO at the end of last week.

I'm following the 'Short-Row Toe and Heel Basic Sock' pattern, I've never done a provisional cast-on before so that was a new experience which I will be increasing the tension on for the other foot! Otherwise, so far so good.
This is going to be a hand bag project so may take some time to finish.

  1. Nice to have a new Blog to visit!
Love the socks so far, I am always in awe of folks mastering the magic loop, I still haven't got around to that!

  4. Looks like you're off to a good start. I have on occasion *cough, cough * used the yarn tail to duplicate stitch the cast on toe tighter to reinforce it.

  5. I'm just the opposite. I've never knit socks on dpn's...always been a magic loop girl...mostly two at a time. But, lately, I've been wanting to try it out and see if I can get into double points. :-)
