I currently have 4 projects on needles and another 2 ready to cast on. There are simply not enough hours in the day!
My WiP Wednesday project this week is a Pickles Vest which I started last night for my littlest girl Holly. It's on my new Addi-Click Lace needles which I'm loving.

The Point of It
I've had lots of knitty stuff going on here the last few days. I've almost finished my Stripe Study Shawl for the KAL, I've run out of contrasting colour so the final stripe is done in the main colour, which blends in and makes a wide border, not quite finished yet though.
I've also cast on a project I've wanted to do for ages, a cardigan for me. I really like a cardigan, not too thick, that I can pull on over whatever if it gets a bit chilly. I can't find one to buy anywhere so I decided it was about time I just got on with it and knitted one. It's a Sabine cardigan, knitted with Nimu Kidsty yarn.
The problem I had with yarn as fine as this, and particularly this colour, was that my Knit Pro Symfonies weren't quite as sharp as I'd like to pick it up, and I couldn't see it very well against the colour of the needles.
I have recently been trying out socks on circs. and Sarah from Crafts at the Cwtch had recommended me Addi Lace needles which I have found I just adore, so I have now invested in a full set to fulfil my desire for 'pointyness'.
You also get a sneak preview of the yarn for my next project - Nimu Blencathra for Azzu's Shawl

My first 'Finished-Object Friday'
Another first for me this week, 'Finished-Object Friday' with Tami's Amis.
I saw the Stitch Sampler Shawl pattern a while ago and thought it looked really pretty as well as being not too complicated to knit. I was however put off by the looooong rows so didn't start it until a few weeks ago. I needn't have worried, it was lovely to knit, came together really quickly and was fab for snuggling under while finishing the last few rows. I did have to wait for more yarn to arrive as the 6 skeins called for in the pattern weren't enough for me, but I got it finished this week and I'm really happy with it.
I have another project in the pipeline which I'm hoping to cast on later today. More info on that soon.

WiP Wednesday
This is my first 'Work-in-Progress Wednesday' with Tami's Amis and it's socks :)
I have always knitted socks on DPN's from the top down but I have recently bought a new book of toe up socks and thought I'd try some with magic loop.
I had some self-striping yarn in my stash from some socks I frogged a while ago which was begging to be used and CO at the end of last week.
I'm following the 'Short-Row Toe and Heel Basic Sock' pattern, I've never done a provisional cast-on before so that was a new experience which I will be increasing the tension on for the other foot! Otherwise, so far so good.
This is going to be a hand bag project so may take some time to finish.

3rd Annual Knitting and Crcochet Blog Week
Next week is the 3rd Annual Knitting and Crcochet Blog Week. As I am new to craft blogging, rather than officially enter this year, I am going to try and follow the daily topics and see how I get on. Hopefully it will help me really get my blog going.

Casting On for the Knitalong
The yarn arrived on Wednesday for my Stripe Study Shawl so I got cracking with it straight away.
I adore the Isel yarn, it's a joy to knit with. The pattern is fab too, it doesn't take too much concentration, can't wait to see how it looks when it's finished.

Beginnings
I think it's about time I started putting something on here, I want to use this space to share my 'Works in Progress' and 'Finished Objects'
I have a few projects in the pipeline at the moment. I've almost finished the Stitch Sampler Shawl which I started a couple of weeks ago but I have used a little more yarn than the pattern calls for and so I'm waiting for more yarn to arrive.
I'm also waiting for yarn to arrive so that I can cast on the Stripe Study Shawl for the KnitAlong with Crafts From the Cwtch and Misadventures in Craft, I've got some gorgeous Isel yarn coming and I'm really excited to get started with this.
I am also itching to get started on some socks with some beautiful self striping yarn I bought a while a while ago. I usually use DPNs for socks but want to try these on circs so they're easy to push into my bag when I'm out and about. I'm waiting on some 'sock size' circs to arrive hopefully later today.
Another thing I have wanted to try for ages is spinning, I have a spindle being made at Sunflower Swifts this week and I have ordered some roving from ebay to have a fiddle around with.
Lots to keep me busy!
